A Ship or a Building?

NEMO (National Center for Science & Technology)
Amsterdam, Nederland

Perfectly integrated into the harbor among Amsterdam is the NEMO museum, designed by Renzo Piano. Surrounded by the sea, the building has the shape of a ship’s bow lying on the entrance of a road tunnel. The copper paneled façade resembles the green shade of the water. Nemo is the largest science center in the Netherlands. Much of the interior (four floors) is dedicated to children and teens who benefit from learning the basics of technology, science, and energy. The ground level contains a ticket office, café, and office spaces. The roof of the center acts as a public piazza with its gentle slope and has a great open panoramic view of the historical Amsterdam. If you would care to know more or are wanting to visit go here >
