An Inspiration For Many

Villa Rotunda

Villa Rocca Pisana an imitation by Vicenzo Scamozzi

In
Vicenza we viewed many buildings designed by Andrea Palladio, one of the most influential architects in the last 500 years. Through his I Quattro Liberi, and interpretations of Vitruvius’ Ten Books of Architecture we have learned the essential building blocks for all future architects. Palladio came from humble beginnings and yet he learned to design some of the major buildings that we all look to for inspiration, such as the Villa Rotunda, and the Villa La Malcontenta.
