The Biosphere

If you are walking down to the port you’ll often see a transparent sphere with trees growing inside of it. I never knew what it was until I went in this tropical habitat on a dare from my professor. Designed by Renzo Piano in 2001 to host the G-8 summit as a floating conference hall, the Biosphere, an addition to the Genoa Aquarium, houses birds, butterflies, and fish as well as tropical plants you would not normally see. The animals are not in any enclosure so you can see them in their natural environment. If you want to see a truly amazing space you should definitely check it out.
