Laundry

As in many crowded cities, people hang laundry right outside their windows. It's a frugal use of interstitial space, as building facades are usually functional in that they keep out the elements, and that's it. This use of space unintentionally transforms them into a patterned, variable space. Different colored loads of laundry offer different colored patches of building facade, which intrigues me. I keep an eye out for both unusual-colored laundry as well as people in the act of hanging out laundry, although it makes me feel like a voyeurist.
