Gabriel Basilico: A Study of Cities and Industrial Landscapes

Photograph by Gabriel Basilico

My interpretation of Basilico's work
Gabriel Basilico is one of Europe's best known documentary photographers. Focusing on cities and industrial landscapes, this architect turned photographer captured iconic pieces of architecture through the eye of his lens. From studying and photographing a war-torn Beirut in 1991 to elegant photographs Provence- Alpes- Cote d'Azur regions, Gabriel Basilico creates photographs that capture the personality of a moment in black and white. His most recent work has been dedicated to a series on urban transformation. In my photograph I tried to capture the strong horizontal and vertical lines of the building photographed.
