Calblanque Park, Spain

While travelling in Europe I think it is important to get off of the beaten path, to experience and see a part of the region in which you are travelling that most people don't get to see. For me, the few untouched landscapes provide a beautiful and relaxing retreat from the highly touristed that highlight most travels. Travelling by car and armed with a tent and sleeping bag, I was able to see some of these places in Spain. The one pictured here is Calblanque natural park. It is one of the last untouched areas along the Mediterranean coast of Spain. It has been a protected nature reserve since 1992, featuring beautiful sand beaches, arid hills and salt flats.
