Scenes around Rome

Rome, being enormous, offered so many things to gawk at. The top picture shows a shot over the river at night, with sky and river a beautiful glowing blue.
The bottom two photos are both from St. Peter's Cathedral. The first is the worn-down foot of a stone statue of St. Pete himself; visitors come to pray at his feet, and just by pressing hands, have worn his foot almost completely flat. There was even a line to pray at his feet; one of the few lines that we saw in any of the famous cathedrals we visited. The bottom shot is the dome on top of St. Peter's, with all of the statues against a grey, cloudy sky; fairly reflective of the weather throughout the 11-day trip. There was actually a feature where you could pay 4 euro to climb up the dome, but it closed at 4:30, and I sadly didn't get to experience it.
