If you are looking for a relaxing daytrip from Genova, one possibility is the picturesque coastal town of Camogli- about a 45 minute ride by train or car. It is worth spending a few hours simply walking around the quaint town with black pebble beaches, colorful boats in the harbor, fishing nets draped over piers, and old men fishing from rocks. Camogli is deservingly a part of Liguria's aptly named Golfo Paradiso (Gulf of Paradise).
