Gasometer B and Complex
Designed by COOP HIMMELB(L)AU in 2001, the intervention to the existing Gasometer site includes three phases of construction: the cylinder insider the gasometer, the shield building [2nd pic], and the mutli-use conference space in the base of the gasometer. The Biulding is an example of the dichotomy between new and old in architecture and has taken the form of shopping complex, housing, and office programs. The third picture explains the entertainment complex as an attached entity that completes the entire site in Vienna.
