Trains through Germany

The train ride from Berlin to Dessau was through some of the most beautiful country I've ever seen. Rolling hills, fields, and trees. Maybe I thought it was so beautiful because it was like South Carolina plus. The train stops were interesting, because from what I gathered, their m.o. for expansion of train traffic is not to add onto the old station, but to build a new one right beside it. In some areas there were six or seven stations, boarded up and in various states of decay, all beside and across from one another.
