Sevilla: Bullfight

Bullfighting. Often a disputed tradition between animal activists and traditional Spanish participants. No matter which view you take, the beauty of the matador and bull can not be disputed. A series of organized scenes take place to slowly and gracefully wear down the bull, until the final sword can be placed in the perfect spot to bring the bull down. After viewing the fight, I was awestruck by the traditions and perfection associated with a good bullfight-and at the same time horrified when the matador was not flawless in his sword and cape work. The season begins on Easter in Sevilla,Spain and continues through the summer and fall. Bullfighting occurs throughout Spain, and even the smallest cities can have an impressive plaza de toros.
