Prato delle Valle Park

Padova is a beautiful city located outside of Venice. It is the home of some beautiful Byzantine churches and the second oldest university in Italy. One of the main hangouts for university students is the park on Prato dell Valle. It is located in the southern part of the city near many of the university buildings. The park is an ellipse surrounded by a moat (as is the city itself) bordered by statuary and separated into 4 quadrants by the bridges and sidewalks. This park is great for lounging in the grass or a game of frisbee or soccer. If you want to go to relax and lounge, there is a small outdoor cafe located on the east side of the park owned by a very friendly older couple which serves ice cold Paulaner Lager on tap. I highly recommend a stop there.
