Eiffel Tower on the Hour

The Eiffel Tower is arguably the most recognizable artifact in Paris. Designed by Gustave Eiffel and Maurice Koechlinas, the tower is an experiment with structural steel. History aside, this icon has another side that many people do not see. After dark the tower is lit-revealing its beautiful structure. However, the lucky casual observer will be amazed on the hour with an explosion of lights and sparkle. The structure is lit every night but it only erupts for 10 minutes on the hour. When visiting the Eiffel Tower, opt to walk the stairs starting about 1 hour before dusk. You should be greeted with Paris by night and day (from above)-Leaving just enough time to catch the first light show.
