Underground Art Gallery

Map

You may assume at first glance that this ground entrance leads to a subway, however, this passageway is a tunnel used to cross under the street by the Piazza Corvetto. It allows for a constant flow of traffic and pedestrians all at the same time. This tunnel not only provides a means to cross the street, but it also functions as a sort of art gallery. The tunnel is brightly colored with blue paint and has several portraits painted on the the walls. The words that describe with the portraits are in Italian, but the detail of the artwork is worth crossing beneath the street to see.
