Scaffold

(orange construction fabric defining circulation)

(Scaffold space)
(fabric at night billowing)
(scaffold diffusing light)

The scaffolding found through out Italy challenges many of the pre-existing spacial norms for the Italian and foreign pedestrians. In the case of the orange mesh(top) the construction space redirects foot traffic in an almost fluid manner-diverting the pedestrian from strict orthagonal movements. The scaffolding also begins to create intimate spaces (second) that begin to blur the public nature of the street into a more introverted experiance. Scaffolding also reveals interesting lighting conditions (bottom) found in many public buildings, projecting the bold arches and architecure onto the ephemeral mesh. Ultimatley, scaffolding changes the urban setting of any area, in Milan some scaffolds (third) actually add to the interest of a building facade-taking a relativley stark modern building and attaching an apperatus of movement.
